Commercial & Business Banking Chief Operating Office (CBB COO) has the responsibility across a number of key functions at Nordea that support the CBB business areas of Business Banking, Transaction Banking and Nordea Finance, but also works closely with the Financial and People units within CBB. The development and operations of CBB have been brought together under the CBB COO to provide consistency across the business drivers, to harness process synergies and efficiencies, and to integrate and transition towards ’One Operations’ and ‘One Technology’.

 

The offer

Payments is the backbone of a bank, and we are now offering an exiting opportunity for you who is prepared to take on a key role to ensure we have the right strategic approach to provide delivery and build capabilities of the value chain in Nordea’s payments area. You will have a crucial mandate to set up the trend in the payments service delivery, bringing it to the next level in a fast changing and agile business environment. The position will involve team leadership, strategic leadership and cross-Nordea collaboration.

The Head of Payments Service Delivery Management will report to the Chief Operating Officer of Commercial & Business Banking.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Shape and drive the payment service delivery management in support of business needs and priorities of Nordea
  • Ensure operational excellence throughout the value chain of payments, from customer to product to payments and more
  • Manage the Payments & Liquidity Service Management Solutions team as a people leader, establishing best practices and influencing the team’s direction
  • Ensure the value chain is compliant and carry the responsibility for service-related risks 
  • Secure the financial health of the service and take appropriate action/escalation as required
  • Manage the development prioritisations
  • Supervise regular reporting including financial reporting
  • Drive stakeholder relations across relevant Business Areas and functions to enhance the progression of identified actions in a timely manner  

The role is based in any of the Nordic capitals.

Your profile and background:

  • +10 years of extensive E2E value chain experience in the payments area, ideally on a multi-regional or global scale
  • Strong understanding of how business processes and technologies impact corporate payments and be able to leverage this knowledge to create valuable solutions for our partners and customers
  • In-depth payment business and technical domain knowledge including payment systems, digital channels, compliance and regulatory issues, operational dependencies and how these are intertwined
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with ability to establish trust and credibility across lines of business and functions and influence key stakeholders in a complex organisation
  • Strong people leader with experience from driving transformational change
  • Keen interest to stay abreast of industry best practices, trends, and performance benchmarks and understand and exploit the opportunities these present to Nordea
