Head of Sustainability i Stockholm

Sustainability at Nordea cuts across all aspects of the business, from integrating sustainability into all our business activities and products to our everyday energy consumption and procurement processes. We want to ensure our employees incorporate sustainability in their working life by educating everyone in the bank about its fundamental importance and creating processes and tools that enable us to integrate sustainability into all our business decisions.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, The Head of Sustainability will lead Nordea’s Sustainability effort and have the overall responsibility for managing, controlling, and guiding the corporate sustainability process, providing strategic input and coordinating all sustainability related communication to internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will develop and implement a strong sustainability risk culture, oversee the compilation of the annual Sustainability Report, communicate with key stakeholders on sustainability topics and drive awareness and engagement across the bank. She/He will be leading a high performing team, working with strategic, operational, and financial aspects of sustainability.

Location: Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki

What you’ll be doing:

• Ensure that Nordea’s sustainability work aligns with Nordea’s vision and strategy
• Create the vision, strategy and execution roadmap that strengthens Nordea’s position as a leading sustainable customer-oriented bank
• Establish a strong sustainability risk assessment culture and processes
• Continue bringing sustainability closer to the customer through a broader offering, process integration and increased knowledge among advisors
• Be responsible for delivering on key projects
• Be responsible for and document internal and external communication activities
• Oversee the annual Sustainability Report
• Lead a cross-functional sustainability team
• Represent and advocate Nordea’s Sustainability program internally and externally
• Supervise the evaluation of sustainability initiatives against industry standards and internal metrics

Your background:

• Minimum 15-year professional experience with around 10 years in Sustainability, Business Analysis and Management in financial services
• Experienced leader with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Strategic and analytical thinker
• Hands-on experience in delivering on key sustainability targets
• Natural collaborator
• Strong oral and written presentation skills
• Comfortable with frequent public speaking and presentations
• Subject matter expert with deep expertise in all aspects of sustainability
• Strong network in the Sustainability arena
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Minimum a relevant Bachelor’s degree (MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree/accreditation strongly preferred)
