About this opportunity
Welcome to the Regulatory unit in Group Credit Risk Control. We
add value by being responsible
for the 2nd Line of Defence (2nd LoD) instructions of the Credit Risk
Framework. We ensure that the instructions guiding the credit risk management
processes and principles in the Group, meet the regulatory requirements and
supervisory expectations and are fit to the risk profile and appetite of the
Group. We also advise and control implementation of the requirements in Group’s
operations in tight collaboration with various stakeholders in Group's
functions and Business Areas.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading activities of the Credit Risk Framework for Corporate banking sub-team in the Regulatory unit, as well as developing the Group’s 2nd LoD frameworks, policies and processes especially in the following areas: corporate credit risk assessment, rating policies and processes and credit risk management of high-risk customers, including default, and forbearance management
- Driving instruction update projects with stakeholder groups and develop the Credit Risk Framework in collaboration with other experts and sub-teams in the Regulatory unit and other units in Nordea
- Striving for solid credit risk management processes and practices in the Group by advising and steering the implementation projects as a 2nd LoD representative, and developing the credit risk controls of the Group to meet the requirements of further automatization and digitalisation of the customer businesses and credit processes
- Managing regulatory changes in the sub-team’s subject areas by monitoring the upcoming changes, assessing their impact and planning and implementing changes in the frameworks and processes
- Leading and developing the Regulatory unit together with the Head of the Unit and other Functional Leaders
The role is based preferably in Finland or
Sweden, but the other Nordic countries can also be considered. The GCRC
Regulatory unit gives you a first-row view to the credit operations in the
entire Group. Every expert in the team is vital for our success and we coach

that you:
- Have a good balance of collaboration and independence in driving initiatives. You can reprioritise your and your team's work quickly and focus on finding solutions even in the most challenging situations
- Have proven skills and good track record in leading initiatives, projects or teams
- Have strong knowledge of credit risk area, especially in ratings, corporate credit risk assessment and/or high-risk management
- Have strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
Your experience and background:
- Master's degree from relevant field (economics, finance, law, engineering or other suitable)
- At least eight years of experience in credit risk management and financial industry
- Broad experience in corporate banking is a benefit
- Knowledge of the regulatory framework in credit area is a benefit
- Fluent in English both written and spoken
