ABB SE has been awarded CASA1000 HVDC Link Project to build two Converter station at Sangtuda in Tajikistan and at Nowshera in Pakistan with two associated ground electrode stations. The purpose of the connection is to facilitate transfer of surplus hydropower in the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan in summer to energy deficit Pakistan and Afghanistan’s Market integration & trading of capacity. It is planned to transfer power of 1,300 MW fixed power from the Kyrgyz Republic in Tajikistan to Pakistan and Afghanistan from mid-April to mid-October.

ABB SE Branch office in Dushanbe is looking for a qualified Site Quality Manager to be stationed at Sangtuda Project Site.

• Ensure that all inspections and tests are done as per ABB quality requirements and specifications by working closely with all on-site contractors and by involving different functions as required such as engineering, procurement and document control.
• Ensure that the site quality plan is being implemented and followed as per agreed with the client through regular quality checks and surveillances.
• Ensure link with the client through proper communication channels on any quality issues.
• Manage all non-conformities by ensuring they are recorded, responded and addressed with the appropriate corrective actions. Ensure proper communication with the different functions involved.
• Ensure that all quality documents and records relating to civil works, installation, electrical testing and commissioning are maintained.
• Perform frequent inspections and audits and assure correct and timely implementation of audit actions.

• A minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience.
• Require a deep knowledge of Quality requirements, HV equipment and experience working with different functions in order to perform the tasks successfully. Previous experience in HVDC projects is a plus.
• Construction and QA/QC experience with Mechanical and Electrical (HV equipment and auxiliary power) Systems – preferably experience with large construction projects in the field of HV Substations or Power generation.
• Experience in performing inspections during civil construction and erection.
• Knowledge on ANSI and NEMA standards.
• Knowledge in construction of HVDC Classic Project will be an advantage.
