Technical designer

As a Technical Designer you will work closely with the Designer and Product developers on designated styles starting from initial pass-off to the after-sales fit and design analysis. You will monitor and maintain fit, construction, workmanship for consistency within the brand across all suppliers. You will also create technical design packs and communicate style, size, proportion, scale. As a technical designer you will manage and guide fittings. Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot potential production issues for aesthetic, quality and cost purposes
• Translate input on customer fit and quality experience to strategically improve the consumers' future experience with product and service to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty
• Gather and summarise feedback on shipment samples regarding fit, workmanship and quality from design team
• Conduct and manage fit sessions to determine and execute proper fit: including measuring and prepping samples for fitting, taking notes and digitals during fit sessions
• Generate technical packages for factories including: clear and organized fit comments, sketches/digitals, specifications and construction details
• Communicate to factories regarding fit, specification, construction and production questions;
• Organise L/D and fabric libraries

Requirements

• A trained eye for proportion and balance as well as aesthetic detail
• Degree in a fashion related field
• Skilled in Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel
• Expert knowledge of fit, fabrics, grading, and construction standards, including knowledge of sewing, pattern making and an ability to do technical flat sketches
• Ability to influence and navigate through difficult situations with little or no supervision. Highly solution oriented
• Need to be eager to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
