About this opportunity
Welcome to team FCIA
Development. FCIA, is an exciting new function protecting the bank through
detection of illegal activities exposed to the bank. The FCIA uses advanced
analytics and deep subject matter knowledge via intelligence to
perform complex investigations and intelligence activities, while building the
next generation financial crime. As Senior Financial Crime Data Scientist you
will play a valuable role in applying automated monitoring and building advanced
analytics tools for anti-financial crime subject matter experts to use.
What you will be doing:
- Turn innovative ideas and tactical data tools into reusable data solutions
- Proactively contributing to the build of next generation financial crime solutions including articulating how analytical solutions and data transformations can be integrated into these
- Utilize the knowledge of data to optimize the way complex investigations are carried out using data - A curious mind not afraid to suggest data driven solutions that will increase the bank's effectiveness and efficiency
- Building data pipelines that supports the creation of a continuous risk monitoring capability
- Conduct research to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial crime monitoring
The role is based in Helsinki or Stockholm. You will join a team that is built on hybrid

Your experience and background:
- A Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistical Sciences. Recent graduates are welcome to apply to this position.
- Excellent English language skills
- Technical understanding covering data processing and software development in distributed systems (Hadoop), data transformation and data pipelines (automating the movement and transformation of data)
- Understanding and technical awareness of Linux and common big data and visualization open source technologies such as Hadoop, Elastic Search, graph databases, entity resolution and network analysis
- Able to work with business stakeholders, facilitate decision making and communicate clearly on complex topics.
- Strong in at least one common data science -oriented programming language such as R or Python
- Excellent knowledge of Data engineering programming languages such as Scala or Erlang
