Thesis Work for Development of Sample cutter i Kista

You will work with the development of a new sample cutter used for taking out paper samples from paper machines. The samples are used for measuring paper properties in our Autoline system. The work is mainly mechanical design with focus on ergonomic aspects.

Details:
• Period – the thesis work is thought to be started in first quarter of 2020.
• Master thesis is equivalent to 30 ECTS, and one semester of Bachelor thesis to 15 ECTS.
• The thesis work is for one student.
• The work is recommended to take place on site at ABB Kista.

• Pre-study of existing cutters.
• User study at paper mill to define the scope and functionality.
• Mechanical concept design.
• Prototype development.
• Practical tests and evaluations.

• M.Sc Mechanical Engineering specializing in machine design.
• Basic 3D CAD skills, preferably with Autodesk Inventor.
