We are looking for an Engineering Manager with delivery experience to join our royalties & reporting team (RoaR). The team works with the datasets of Spotify’s millions of users and billions of delivered streams, aggregating these and outputting payouts to Labels and Publishers.
Working closely with the engineers, the squad’s Product Manager, and directly with our stakeholders you will build a high performing team whose goal is to enable Spotify’s business model and to help creators around the world to make their living.
The team is in the midst of securing and improving our current systems, but is also challenged by providing new and scalable Royalty Platform supporting the company in the decade to come. Important business stakeholders like Accounting, Legal & Licensing, and Creator Marketplace all rely on us delivering something extra.
What You’ll Do
- You will be responsible for the team’s overall delivery: timely, with the right functionality and the right quality.
- You will build and lead a team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and hands-on career development.
- Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices in your team.
- Help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
- Collaborate with other managers in leading the Product Area.
- You will be based in Stockholm, but travel occasionally to New York.
Who You Are
- You are experienced in leading, coaching and mentoring software development teams and delivering stable software of high quality together with them.
- You have an MSc degree (or equivalent) in a relatable field.
- You have solid experience in both data and backend engineering, and can write code and review commits if needed.
- You are a manager with a few years of people management experience.
- You have a solid experience of working in an agile development environment.
