We are passionate in developing technology that enables Volvo Car Group to fulfil its aggressive targets to be the leader in the areas of Driving Dynamics, NVH & Safety. Now we are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Development Engineer within Wheel Suspension (ART Body Control).

 

You will work with development of wheel suspension and its components. Initially we have a need within the Structure Team (sub frames, crossbeams & brackets) but this can possibly change over time. Your focus will be on technical assignment lead in cooperation with development suppliers. This possibility will give you options to broaden your spectre of knowledge, contacts and experience.

 

You will work in a highly motivated and diverse team with members from different backgrounds and experience and towards a broad variety of external suppliers globally. Most of the work will be located in the Gothenburg office but occasional travels to meet suppliers, participate in vehicle builds or complete vehicle verification activities are to be expected.
 

What will you do?
 

Within the Wheel Suspension section, we need a wide variety of competences since we work with build-to-print parts like sub frames and link arms to developing our own software in-house.

We are now looking for a new team member in the area of mechanical hardware design, a driven assignment leader that can lead suppliers including outsourcing tasks in development and customisation of complex components. If you are looking for a challenge and the possibility to grow within these areas, we have an interesting role to offer as Mechanical Development Engineer.

 

We have a large network of contacts and many internal interfaces, such as body structures, propulsion, enabling attributes teams and many other areas. You will work closely together with attribute teams and other development teams, which will give you the opportunity to broaden your spectrum of competencies and will give you a chance to grow together with us. The assignments are complex and vary from concept development to improvements of a car models in production.

 

You and your skills

 

We are looking for you who have M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Mechanical engineering or equivalent competence.

You are passionate about cars and new technology! We see that you possess solid knowledge within product development and have experience from managing suppliers in the development phase. Experience in working with structure components like frames, members, link arms or body structure is valuable but not a requirement.

 

Further, if you have previous experience of development work within the automotive sector, specifically within Vehicle Dynamics, Durability, Safety or NVH it is considered as beneficial. It could be of a value if you have specific knowledge and have worked before with Powertrain, Chassis or Body area, due to the similarity of material we are using in wheel suspension development. 

Knowledge in CAD is not required for assignment leader but meritorious since your tasks to some extent can consist of CAD releasing /check work, hence you should be familiar with some CAD engineering tools.  

 

On a personal level we are looking for you who would bring knowledge, network and collaborative spirit to the team.
