Engineering Manager – Growth Opportunities i Stockholm

Growth Opportunities (GO) is an R&D team in Spotify with a mission to drive sustained growth of Spotify fans around the world and we are looking for someone who can lead a fast paced, innovative team, helping engineers tackle challenging problems and develop reliable, scalable solutions. As an engineering manager at Spotify and GO, you will be responsible for supporting the growth of engineers in the team, building a strong engineering culture and facilitating technical delivery. We will rely on you to work with your team on local strategy, practices, and execution, to coordinate with other teams across Spotify, and to work with leadership to define big picture vision and strategy.
As a lead for strong engineers in R&D, technical leadership and a proven background in software development is a must, so that you’re able to provide guidance as well as challenge and grow your team members. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture, be accountable for technical delivery and work with your team on strategy and execution.
What you’ll do
  • You will build and lead a team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
  • Work closely with your team and external stakeholders to enable sustainable and timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs.
  • Facilitate multi-functional partnership between engineers, product managers, and designers to build innovative and user-friendly products.
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize phenomenal engineering and organizational practices
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the things we value
  • Hands-on contribution would be a strong plus
  • You will be based in Stockholm, but occasionally travel globally
Who you are
  • You love developing and growing people across different subject areas and have a track record doing it.
  • You love engineering early-stage ideas to compelling user-friendly products.
  • You have led complex engineering efforts, and know what it takes to deliver while still having a healthy team.
  • You have experience in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring software developers towards delivering timely, high-quality software together with them
  • You have experience working in an agile development environment
