Data Engineer i Sweden

With the mission to eliminate waste in farming, Vultus offers satellite based fertilizer prescriptions. This helps farmers save 30% of fertilizers, leading to improved sustainability and production. Currently, we reach out to the equivalent of triple Sweden’s growing area, working across Europe and Asia. Within this customer base, we can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1.3 million tonnes of CO2 per year, about the same as Maltas’ yearly emissions.

The Team

With the closing of an upcoming investment round, our team will double over the next 6-8 months, and currently consists of 18 employees from 10 countries. About half the team works with business and management, focusing on the essential growth of Vultus and our outreach.The team is diverse, multidisciplinary and most of all, a warm group of compassionate members on a mission to eliminate waste in farming. The Position

You will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. 

The Responsibilities 

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and cloud services  ‘big data’ technologies.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.

  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka.

  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases

  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Luigi, Airflow.

  • Experience with cloud services AWS or Google cloud.

  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala.
