IKEA Range & Supply has the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA retail channels with home furnishing solutions available to the many people.

IKEA is in a transformation journey with the aim to combine our home furnishing knowledge with modern digital technology’s to enables an agile, relevant and personal experience for the many people. Some of the top priorities for digitalization of marketing communication is to enable effective creation and distribution of impactful, relevant and updated content across all channels and markets, while enabling collaboration with partners and external parties across the globe. To ensure 100% impact as well as 100% accessibility and 0% waste, the ambition is to be data-driven, using analytics and intelligence for effective planning, executing, tracking and following up marketing plans, to reach the many people and increase ROI.

This is a how. To support the journey, we create a common hub and innovation lighthouse for all communications related digital initiatives setting the direction, guidelines and processes including execution and governance of digital communications across IKEA entities and channels. As part of this journey we are now looking for a Solution Architect to join our team

As a Solution Architect at IKEA, we expect you to bring all your knowledge and experience as developer, and use that when shaping solution architectures for IKEA’s digital communication platforms and products. We do not primarily expect you to develop applications (although that can happen from time to time), but to lead and guide development teams, and in collaboration with stakeholders and team members across the globe secure that platforms and products are developed to meet our requirements.  Your main objective is to ensure that IKEA is building the right digital communications platform as a basis for future needs.

Your assignment will include:

• Take part in design and development of digital capabilities and business opportunities within Marketing & Communication to enable creation of impactful communication across channels and markets for IKEA customers and co-workers
• Be part of defining our digital strategy and the marketing related technology roadmap to meet our ambitions
• In close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders you will shape ideas into concrete, robust and appropriate solution architectures and transition roadmaps for implementation.
• Secure proper design, architecture, and technology in place for digital technology platforms such as Digital Asset Management and products related to Marketing Communications to enable IKEA to provide a multi-channel experience to its customers across the market place.
• Collaborate closely with business and IT stakeholders (including suppliers) to improve solution architectures with learnings from best practices within software development and industry.
• Proactively evaluate new technology and market trends and provide technology/digital recommendations and new capabilities in order to deliver better business result.
• Ensure quality guidelines and control process are created and implemented for the technology platforms and products
• Lead solution architect activities within you assigned area.
• Actively support colleagues in the journey of digital transformation.
• Communicate and be a spokesperson for M&C Digital Transformation internally and externally

You are passionate about technology and appreciate the mix of strategic thinking and turning architecture trends and requirements into practice. You get energized by working interdependently in agile teams. You are the type of person that can manage to see the big picture as well as the details and you collaborate and communicate with you stakeholders to build trust and partnership in order to reach our common goals.

You will bring with you deep understanding and experience of shaping solution architectures, combined with a understanding of the current and future digital technology trends, industry standards, architecture frameworks and modelling techniques. You know how to work in an Agile, DevOps working set-up and how to deliver cloud-based solutions.

You have knowledge of following areas:

• Minimum 5 years of experience from design and software development of relevant technology projects in an international company and environment
• M.Sc. in computer science or equivalent academic degree within the area of IT
• Experience from design and development of digital communication platforms such as Digital Asset Management, Product Information Management, Content Management, API creation, cloud services, marketing automation, CRM and e-commerce
• Solid experience of Martech related projects including technical implementation and integration to related systems
• Understanding of modern data architectures, data extract mechanisms, functional decomposition and business rules engines
• Experience of cloud technology and platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage and communicate with senior business-leaders and Technology Leadership
