We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the team working on the holistic experience of the Spotify mobile app, Origami!
As Engineering Manager for Origami, you’ll help develop and grow engineers to deliver a design system used by squads across Spotify, evolving tooling, APIs and building UI components evolving the look and feel of Spotify. Origami is a UI focused team comprised of 10 engineers working on Android and iOS, 2 designers, 1 QA as well as Product Manager and an Engineering Manager. We have a good mix of seniority level and have a diverse team makeup. As we’re looking to grow further and split the team into two teams, we now need one more engineering manager.
In addition to working closely with your engineers, you’ll collaborate with your product and design counterparts, as well as fellow engineering managers in the Core Surface Product area within Core X. Our product area is made up of five squads, all in Stockholm.
As an engineering manager at Spotify your primary responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they are growing as engineers, doing valuable work and generally having a great time at Spotify. You also lead the delivery of the team, enabling productive and sustainable ways-of-working, focus on the most important things, and long term business value.
As a lead for strong engineers in our software development department, informal leadership and a solid background working in a software development team is a must. You need to be able to challenge and grow your team members. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery and work with your team on strategy and execution, as well as collaborating and working together with teams and stakeholders across the whole of Spotify.

- You will build and lead a team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
- Support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
- Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
- Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with what we value
- Be an active part of the closest leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organisation
- You will be based in Stockholm, but occasionally travel globally
