What you will do

The Director of Engineering is a great people manager who knows how to build and nurture high performing teams that realise with crisp execution, technical depth, hands-on style, and decision-making ability. The Director of Engineering will report to the CEO, and the position is based at our head office in Malmö and remotely.

Primary Responsibilities will include:

• Recruit, build, and manage the engineering teams

• Lead and coach our agile development teams in continuous improvement, technical excellence, and team dynamics.

• Close collaboration with the CTO and the product team to co-develop the technical strategy and roadmap

• Responsible interface towards external contractors

• Ensure that the product vision is realized through excellence in execution

• Having full command of, and continuously improve the development process

• Arranging product demos and ideathons/hackathons/innovation days

• Following budget set for the engineering teams

• Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders, locally as well as globally

Who are you?

We see you having at least 5 years of experience in similar tasks within a tech-driven company in the growth phase. As the Director of Engineering at Docly you will be joining a diverse and fast-paced startup environment with co-workers who are driven, helpful, and open to change. We are looking for someone with a thorough understanding of both tech and business with a can-do attitude. Additionally, you:

• Have several years of experience leading software engineers in agile high-performance teams

• Are a great communicator which helps you work cross-functional and cross teams

• Are a curious person keeping yourself up to date with the latest trends.

• Have a clear vision of what good looks like with regards to development work

• Are a finisher - get things done

• Love to learn and share knowledge and encourage others to do so as well

Previous experience in digital care is meritorious.
