About the role

The Global Outsourcing Director is a new role in the Studio Organization, spanning across all our internal studios but with an ambition to support our third party studios as well. You will be responsible for building and supporting our capacity to do outsourcing by analyzing studio outsourcing needs, processes and pipelines. You will be finding the best partners, building relationships and negotiating the best possible frame agreements with vendors to meet the needs of the organization. You will also be leading a team of professionals supporting this mission as well as performing vital functions to support the development of our games, primarily in the area of Art, Audio, Localization and QA.

In this role you will work closely with multiple internal stakeholders across multiple studios in the Studio Organization, such as Art Directors and QA Directors. It is your responsibility to establish contacts and negotiate contracts, and oversee deliverables between the vendor and the projects.

With your expertise, you will be supporting game project stakeholders with implementation of processes, methods and tools and create a set of best practices for the Studio Organization. The role requires the ability to oversee multiple stakeholder needs, and if necessary make sure outsourcing partners and project teams are well aligned, working towards the same goal and remain committed and motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying, analyzing and understanding the outsourcing process and needs of our stakeholders at internal studios
  • With the help of your team, vetting new outsourcing partners and proactively reviewing performance and customer satisfaction of our current partners.
  • Manage an internal audio team team ensuring that the internal studios audio & music needs are met
  • Support internal studios with tools & process to make outsourcing easier
  • Negotiate frame agreements and contracts with external vendors
  • Support internal stakeholders with estimates of reasonable budgets for all outsourcing
  • Setting up workflows and processes to support internal game project stakeholders
  • Facilitating good collaboration and feedback between production teams and outsource partners
  • Develop processes for review, feedback, and approval of delivered assets and share across the Studio Organization.
  • Proactively identify and resolve risks to both the studio and outsource pipelines and ensure that all security measures are in place
  • Establish deals and contracts with trusted partners in regards to asset and font licensing and review regularly to ensure we always meet legal requirements.
  • Keep an updated record of trusted partners 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience of similar jobs, preferably in game development
  • Deep understanding of software development
  • Relevant higher education
  • High analytical skills and ability to identify future improvement opportunities
  • Procurement and Contract management experience is a plus
  • A great passion and interest in video games is a plus
