Within the Volvo Cars Commercial Digital team, we work in customer-centric product teams to make Volvo Cars business fully digital. We build products and systems for Volvo Cars customers and partners, including volvocars.com, the Volvo On Call app, Care by Volvo, online sales, customer data, Volvo ID, retail and service tools, the Volvo Cars Developer Portal and APIs for building new innovative services.

The team is located in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Lund, Sweden, and we also have teams in the US and in China. Many of the people you will be working with have experience from start-ups and global tech companies such as Spotify, Google, Ericsson, Microsoft, Tradera, Klarna, and King.

We are now looking for an Engineering Manager for our Commercial Digital team. You will be working with a group of skilled software engineers who are currently engaged in development of our companion mobile application. You will be part in envisioning, building and supporting the platform, and to push mobile development at Volvo Cars to the next level.

Your skills and what you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced software engineering manager, who have previously built and led software engineering teams. You have experience in people management, cross-functional collaboration, large-scale system design, and hands-on software development. You probably have a degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. You have a passion for mobile development, architecture and best practices, love to interact with development teams to understand their platform needs and product missions, and with servant leadership and a strong technical foundation you strive to create a fast and fun developer experience. Strong people management, collaboration and communication skills are essential in this role.

Together with your team, you will

• Grow and manage senior software engineers as well as empower and coach skilled individuals and teams.
• Together with product managers you will lead and develop technology strategy in your domain and drive transformation where necessary to strengthen our teams and products.
• You will drive and nurture collaboration, diversity, psychological safety and engagement as well as advocate and advance a modern software development, operation and engineering practices.
• Always find ways to learn and continuously improve our products and practices
