Chief Technology Officer Food portrays the story of mankind. What we eat, how we eat and why we eat it is a story, a story that every food and cuisine has. Sizzle is an online soul-food platform bringing food and stories from around the globe, with a vision of becoming a food incubator housing the best and most innovative new food brands. We work with home-chefs and small food businesses who cook their food with love, offering them services like kitchen infrastructure, procurement and preparation support, marketing, sales and delivery to make the food landscape of Stockholm reflect it’s vibrant society. Sizzle is an effort to encourage and support food entrepreneurs with a focus on people from underrepresented communities. We aim to be a genuine expression of collaboration and love for food, a better and conscious social sustainability company that uses the online food delivery platform to communicate its values. Today our platform consists of a front-end written in React and Java on the back-end leveraging microservices. All of it runs on Amazon Web Services for now. This is the customer facing platform where they can browse through our food business partners offerings, as well as meals made in our own kitchens, Sizzle meals. Our value proposition, through showing the stories of our chefs on top of the food, is the unique user experience that we offer our customers. To do this, we need a world class tech platform and infrastructure. Sizzle is a start-up. We want to become a food ecosystem that offers a variety of services to food entrepreneurs and engages in multiple domains like kitchen sharing and management systems and indoor farming. As a CTO you will, together with our project leads, drive our innovations forward with the tech structure. This means that you would either be making ideas work or coming up with ideas for the company to pursue based on tech capabilities. What we need: * An original thinker * With interest and passion for automating processes, both through pure software solutions and a combination of software and hardware * With an interest in AI and using data mining techniques to crunch data * A doer with the ability to work independently and lead a team You should have experience as a full-stack web developer with skills within the following areas: * Javascript and React/React Native * Database technologies like postgreSQL or any other SQL * Java or other object oriented languages * node.js, Ruby, PHP, python (any of these are a plus) * AWS (not necessary, simply a plus) Special focus will be on your ability to strategize over what technologies are needed, your ability to get things done, your faith in our concept and finally ability to lead our tech team. We are looking for someone who can carry the role as CTO (working hours are flexible, depending on your ability to reach targets). As we are in an initial phase, we cannot offer remuneration, instead, the returns will be in the form of equity. There is a lot more we can discuss.
