What’s in it for you?
Our team is cross-functional, consisting of data analysts, data engineer, and Software Engineers developing product applications, tools and services with direct or indirect connection to our cars. The Data Analysis & Methods and Tools Team supports many teams within Engine Controls & Diagnostics, partly with building and maintained tools used by Control and calibration teams, and partly by offering help with data analysis.
We are looking for a qualified backend Software Engineer who has some experience with data engineering to join our team. Your main responsibility will be developing and maintaining one of the tools which are used for calibration work and to help build and maintain the databases infrastructure.
What you’ll do
You will analyse current tool and determine how to further develop it to support the users in best way. Maintain and provide user support for the software tool. You will develop scalable, fault-tolerant software solutions by analyzing user requirements, searching for problem areas, studying data usage, work processes and systems flow. Follow software development lifecycle, deploy and test software solution. Further, you will:
Do you fit the profile?
You have a university degree in data engineering, machine learning, computer science and applied mathematics, or proven experience achieved by other means. Strong programming skills in Python, C++. Two or more technologies from the following: Spark, Dask, Flink, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Hive, HBase, Hadoop. Experience with cloud environment. Proven experience in software development. Experience working with GitLab and/or Gerrit.
Who are you?
You are able to ask questions and figure out what's the right hardware, and what's the right security measures to be taking. You need to know how data is used, pulled and analyzed to be able to build an useful infrastructure for the teams. The right candidate works well under pressure, keeps things up and running, and keeps things maintaining.
We believe you find answers on your own and make good decisions about software maintainability. You are friendly but relentless and wants to interact with people internally and externally. You have the ability to use a simple language (non-technical) to explain what's going on, what the problem is and the solution.
