What´s in it for you?

If you are the right person for this role you will be part of Digital, responsible for Hosting services and developing the next generation services in the Hosting domain. You will, from scratch, be able to create the area operating model, roadmaps and blueprints to ensure future proof and robust services.

As a Engineering Lead Hosting Services you will focus on driving and delivering upon OKR’s, DoD’s, KPI’s and other measures of progress and deliverables. Key is to supply our different business areas with fit for purpose and robust service delivery’s.  

The location for the job is in Skövde and Gothenburg.

What you´ll do

You will be a domain expert for Hosting/Cloud Products as well as business needs to enable fit for purpose platform services in the hosting area. Also owning relevant monitoring solutions/products and enablement of world class robustness. You will leverage agile methodology for hosting configuration, development and deep experience with Agile tools. Review business requests for product development to maximize business value and undertakes cost evaluation, standards reviews, and prioritization.

You will guide continuous improvement efforts for the platform advancing maturity, looking forward to technology trends and capabilities that will enhance business outcomes. Further, set up and execute a high ambition roadmap and business plan based on objectives and key results (OKR).

You will also be responsible for articulating and consistently emphasizing the short- and long-term vision of the area to the team and relevant stakeholders. Account for license management, testing and security policies as well as account for data and analytics. In addition, you will:

-Ensure critical competence in the teams balancing in house teams, consultancy services, and bought services. Furthermore, enable teams by making sure they have the right tools and methods.

-Protect the long-term technical integrity of the area in close collaboration with the architectural function as well as validating stories making sure they meet the acceptance criteria, definition of done (DoD), and has the appropriate tests.

-Coordinate content dependencies with other key areas such as Network, EUS, Security as well as CRM, PLM, ERP and MES platforms.

-Handle internal and external networks and communication as well as manage vendor and supplier management.

-Articulate product requirements to various audiences (high level to low level technical details) as well as ownership and management of costs associated with all hosting. You will also be accountable for the complete lifecycle of all hosting/cloud services in the span of responsibility.

Do you fit the profile?

You have BSc or equivalent experience in a relevant field (significant on the job training can be seen as equivalent). Documented expertise and experience in on premise, cloud and security technologies and an understanding of the products and services offered by various cloud provider.  Product development and agile experience as well as business and IT for IT relationship management.

You have documented skills in solutions based on prem, in cloud as well as data center and security. You are able to deliver in areas such as Virtualizing (VM-ware, Hyper V and Cisco UCS environment)

Furthermore, you have experience in managing large scale ESXi environments, proficient in backup solutions such as VEAM, IBM Tivoli storage manager as well as understanding and setting RTO, RPO and other DRP objectives.

The new organization will develop technologically-advanced and efficient combustion engines and hybrid powertrains for Volvo Cars, Geely Auto, Proton, Lotus, LEVC and LYNK & CO. The new stand-alone business will also supply third-party manufacturers, providing exciting growth opportunities. The gradual electrification of the automotive industry means there will be significant ongoing demand for efficient hybrid powertrains alongside fully-electric offerings. Hybrid cars need the best internal combustion engines. This new unit will have the resources, scale and expertise to develop these powertrains.
 
The new business, currently operating under the internal name ICE, will be an employer for approximately 2,000 employees from Volvo Cars and around 9,000 employees from Geely’s combustion engine operations, including R&D, procurement, manufacturing, IT, HR, Strategy & planning and finance functions.
