Om tjänsten

We aim high. So do you.

At Volvo Cars, we have bold targets when it comes to innovation, sales and customer experience, and we’re developing new technologies to lead in safety, autonomous driving and electrification. If you want to grow together with talented people creating a new automotive future, we have a job for you.

What’s in it for you?
Volvo Cars Core System is built up by high performance and high integrity components with different Operating Systems that together ensure a highly reliable and safe car. At the department/ART Core System Components we develop core system hardware, deploy it using high integrity operating systems and integrate the applications on top. We have responsibilities that stretches all the way from concept development, through the development cycle, and to the launch of the car. This includes all steps in the process from defining platform components, to integration of application and continuous integration testing, for all involved disciplines. Our ART is responsible for developing and integrating several electronic control units used in all car platforms, both with sourced and in-house developed software.

What you will do
As ART architect you will be part of the ART management team. You will be defining the core system over time and responsible for communicating, aligning and governing it over time. You will have a team of experts supporting you to set the core system vision, roadmap and long-term strategies for the development of our high integrity platform. This includes working with VolvoCars.OS, QNX, AUTOSAR and Linux.

You will also support the agile teams in defining, exploring, and implementing enablers, provide oversight and guidance, and foster a quality-first culture using modern tools and technologies.

Who are you
You are curious, positive and have a strong drive to engage and support teams and people. Your communication skills are excellent and you value collaboration and balancing of different stakeholders. You have a great passion for working with implementation of the architectural vision. You effectively build formal and informal relationships inside and outside the organization and have ability and experience to create and drive vision, roadmaps, and detailing the steps to get there. You use your technical ability and expertise to understand and decide the most balanced system/function alternative and understand the consequences of different design choices in complete end-to-end solutions.

The lead architect within Core System Components needs wide and deep understanding of relevant technologies within development and test of HW, SW, CI, and system safety. The architect likes to be part of change to improve ways for the organization to be successful in everything from technology and processes, to networks and collaborations.
To be successful in this role you need to be open minded towards new tools, solutions, and maybe most important, other team members. A large part of the work is bringing different technologies and people together into a coherent solution that is well aligned and highly effective. You are fluent in English, written and spoken.
