Within the Volvo Cars Commercial Digital team, we work in customer-centric product teams to make Volvo Cars business fully digital. We build products and systems for Volvo Cars customers and partners, including Retail & Care Platform, volvocars.com, the Volvo On Call app, Care by Volvo, online sales, customer data, Volvo ID, the Volvo Cars Developer Portal and APIs for building new innovative services.

The team is located in Gothenburg, Stockholm and Lund, Sweden, and we also have teams in the US and in China. Many of the people you will be working with have experience from start-ups and global tech companies such as Spotify, Google, Ericsson, Microsoft, Tradera, Klarna, and King.

You and Your Skills
We are looking for an experienced tech lead for the Salesforce platform, who has a deep understanding of native Salesforce features and functionality. You have experience in designing and developing custom business applications on the Salesforce platform and been part of entire Software development lifecycle – assessing the architecture environment and requirements and designing sound, scalable, and high-performing solutions on the Salesforce Platform. You have a keen interest and understanding of data management on the Salesforce platform, right from designing a data model adhering to Salesforce best practices to designing and maintaining a good security model. You have experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery practices for the Salesforce platform. You also have experience on integration of the Salesforce platform with different systems and products in the Enterprise.

You have a degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Collaboration and communication skills are essential when working in a diverse and international setting. It is also important that you are continuously developing your own skills and guide and coach developers on the team.

What You’ll Do
You’ll work closely with the different product teams and help the product teams with technical design and architecture, especially when it comes to development of new features. In addition, you will also be part of programs and projects and responsible for the architecture and design of the project deliverable. You will work very closely with the platform team and support them with proactive maintenance of the Salesforce platform.

To summarize:

• Be part of a product team and work with engineers and product owners to further develop and maintain the product
• Take a technical leadership role, guiding and helping the team to solve relatively complex technical problems and technical design/architecture for new features
• Overall responsible for quality of deliverables from the engineering team working on the product
• Ensure that the products meet all the requirements of quality including code and design quality
• Maintaining architectural and technical documentation for the product
• Participating in the Architecture Review Board (Design Authority) as and when needed
• Helping product owner and team to determine functional and non-functional requirements, translating them to design and implementation on the Salesforce platform
• Proactively manage technical debt on the platform
