Background 
Airbags & Steering wheels is part of the Agile Release Train Seats & Safety within the unit Vehicle Tophat. The group’s responsibility is to develop all airbag applications and steering wheels and we are primarily working with Full Service Suppliers (FSS) which normally have a global footprint. There is also an engineering team in Shanghai (PDS) with which we have close cooperation, even though they are not part of our group.
 
Scope 
A life cycle assessment (LCA) of passenger airbag, focused on environmental impacts. The assessment will be performed according to ISO LCA standards with the goal to present a Carbon Footprint for each of the ingoing parts of the airbag. The study will aim to process the full life cycle of the airbag "Cradle-to-Grave" within the system boundaries of the study.

Do you fit the profile 
You should study the Master of Science in Industrial Ecology or equal program. You should have well-documented knowledge of the life cycle assessment methodology. We see that you feel comfortable interfacing with many parts of a big organization and like to build relationships and network. Due to the size of the organization, we see that you could be on-site in Torslanda, Gothenburg the majority of the time.

Duration 
•    Start in January 2022 
•    30 points ECTS (academic credits) if in agreement with your Thesis Advisor in University 
•    Number of students: 2
