Om tjänsten

Let's create the future together.

At Volvo Cars, we believe that being curious and truly committed to understanding people is the key to future success. We are people who care about other people, working together to create new technologies and innovations for safe, sustainable and convenient mobility. Want to join us?

What’s in it for you?
We are looking for a passionate Digital Product Owner that can lead one of our product teams and deliver outstanding business value. You will join the Order Management & Planning product cluster within Production Planning & Procurement area of Digital at Volvo Cars. This product cluster delivers digital solutions that improve stability and consistency in the production plan, which will enable us to provide shorter and more accurate lead times to our customers. You will be part of the journey as we deliver on our company’s vision and ensure high flow through our factories. We use modern tools and agile methods to create business value continuously. We ensure high quality and adaptability in our delivery. Of course, we have fun together while doing it.

What’s the challenge?
We’re in the middle of a commercial transformation, we are moving our sales online and our cars will soon be powered purely by electricity. We need to meet new demands and offer order planning with an efficient building sequence in our plants and a stable call-off to our suppliers when building our amazing cars. Understanding what our customers want now, and in the future, and plan accordingly is more important than ever.

You will be working with the two DevOps teams within the Production Order Planning product, supporting the production planning process in all plants. For the car plants our applications are planning in which shift and in what sequence the cars will be built. The planning will feed down- and upstream applications with production events and information so that parts can be broken down for the material call off from our suppliers. We are also supporting the stamping and engine plant in Sweden, to create a production plan with sequenced schedules for all manufactured parts to be delivered to all plants.

There are mixed technologies used in our Production Order Planning tools and we are planning to move away from our legacy dependencies and modernize and consolidate both the infrastructure and our applications for all our plants globally. You will drive this transformation, and at the same time be responsible for the existing systems and together with our DevOps teams supporting the users today. You need to align with stakeholders and understand why and where their problems should be solved, enabling the current process at the same time as we are pushing for the new system to be in place.

What you’ll do
As digital product owner, you will maximize value by owning and deciding upon priorities in the digital product team’s backlog from a business perspective to streamline the execution, while maintaining the technical integrity of the features/components for the team. You are the voice of the user, you have a business perspective and some technical know-how.

You will be articulating and consistently emphasizing the short- and long-term vision of the product to the team and relevant stakeholders as well as ensure increased stability for our products by close collaboration with the operations teams.

You will also be owning, building, prioritizing, deciding and refining the stories in the Team Backlog including defects and enablers as well as participating in the development of story acceptance criteria and drafting them when feasible.

Involving the team in backlog refinement to achieve minimum handover and maximum joint understanding as well as understanding the scope of the upcoming enabler work, collaborating with the team and architects to assist with decision-making, and sequencing of the key technological infrastructures.

We are looking for you who will be validating stories making sure they meet the acceptance criteria, the definition of done (DoD), and have the appropriate tests and draft the team’s specific objectives.

You will work according to the Scrum and Safe frameworks; 2-week sprints and 12-week PI-increments. However, we’re not religious about it and are constantly evaluating how to work in the best way, applying common sense to ensure as little waste as possible.

We believe it’s important you are available to the team and answering their questions as well as participating in sprint team demo and retrospective (as requested by the team).
You will actively coordinate content dependencies with other Product Owners.

It is also important you are continuously developing your own skills and help the team and other Product Owners develop theirs. Participating in cluster discussions and contribute to the program-level vision, roadmap, and content presentations.
