The team and the offer!
The Diagnostic Data team is a small but fast-growing team, which is building the big data platform for the company. We collect massive amounts of data; provide storage, access, and high-volume processing. Do you want to contribute to improving the functionality of our cars worldwide? Then the role as Data Engineer is the place for you to prosper. You will collaborate with different stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment and be an important player of the team in close collaboration with Product Owner, your work will affect hundreds of Volvo Cars engineers daily!

Your contribution
You will deliver new and improved big data services and infrastructure in cloud environments; this includes build and manage data pipelines, data lakes & dashboards. In order to support our growing user base and enable data-driven development at Volvo Cars.

Your main task is to help develop a car data platform and repository management, from concepts described in requirements, models or use cases together with the aim of simplified and proactive diagnostic systems. 

This includes developing data pipelines, data lakes, enhancing our data warehouse semantic layer, building, creating dashboards and visualizations. Main environment is in cloud and a lot of the work is done in Microsoft Azure.

What you’ll bring
You share our passion for diagnostic and data engineering. You have senior knowledge in Data Engineering and experienced working in cloud environment. We think that you have a university degree within computer science or electrical engineering preferably with signal processing as major as a base. Our work environment is in cloud, and we see that you experienced working in cloud tools like Azure.

You enjoy being a part of an efficient engineering team and are a great communicator with a hands-on approach to problems.
You have the ability to work without detailed guidance and work in an unstructured environment, comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
