The Expansion function at H&M is responsible for all aspects of creating our H&M stores; to lease, design, draw, buy and build each store. In 2015 a net total of 413 new stores were added and we aim to continue this growth and increase the number of stores by 10 – 15 % per year.

You will start as Leasing Manager in one of our country organizations and if you are the right person you would develop into the Expansion Manager role.

Your main responsibilities in this initial role will be as Leasing Manager in the Expansion team in one of our markets. You will be working with stores for both H&M and our other brands - COS, & Other Stories, Weekday, Monki, Cheap Monday and H&M HOME. You will identify possible store locations, optimize sales and negotiate lease agreements with property owners. The work is performed both on a strategic and an operational level including new locations as well as optimizing the portfolio of existing locations. In addition to a commercially driven perspective with focus on profitability, portfolio management overall will be a key part of your responsibility.

Our lease agreements are one of our biggest assets and the base for H&M’s further expansion, which is also related to large investments and other obligations. The Role as Leasing Manger is therefore an important role within the company and to be successful you need to be a good negotiator and have the ability and interest to optimize each deal.

You will be reporting to the Expansion Manager in that specific country and work close in team with the Construction Project Manager and the Store Development Manager.  You will also be working closely with the Sales- and Marketing departments. You will be required to travel to some extent.

Which country you will be based in depends on our current needs and where we can provide the best possible start for you. The successful candidate should have the following qualifications/skills:

• Degree in business or engineering

• At least 5 – 8 years of working experience, real estate/commercial leasing/retail/FMCG is meriting

• Have a strong interest in doing business 

• International experience

• Ability to work abroad for at least 5 years

• Mobile and flexible when it comes to which country you will be based in

• Open for extensive travelling within your area

• Excellent leadership and analytical skills

• Fluency in English, other languages are meriting
