Network Engineer - Planning and Design WAN i Stockholm, Stockholms län

We are looking for a service oriented Planning and Design Network Engineer to join our quest to transform state of the art technology to business value. As a Planning and Design Network Engineer specialized in Network, you will be responsible for the architecture within the Network service area and drive the development forward. You will work closely with Service Delivery Management and other functions in order to drive the development and lifecycle management of the WAN area forward.

You will work with a global design, finding solutions to technical challenges and fabricate services together with our suppliers and be a part of the Hosting section within our Infra Services department. Hosting is responsible for our network and compute services globally and comprises three service areas called Network, Compute and Store Communications.

Your responsibilities

The job of a Planning and Design Network Engineer at H&M comes with a lot of responsibility – and lots of fun. Your to do-list includes:
 
- Participate in design solutions for new functions and services with our suppliers and vendors for the H&M WAN
- Review and approve design solutions created by suppliers within the WAN area
- Set the architectural roadmap for the WAN service area through management and control
- Control that the architectural roadmap aligns with service portfolio & demands
- Consider IT architectural policies and standards and Enterprise Architecture for WAN
- Control that architectural policies and guidelines are followed and in accordance with roadmap
- Documentation of service design package and service description
- Documentation of guidelines, processes and routines for appointed responsibility area
- Participate in H&M architecture board and multilateral architecture boards

Your skills

- Documented deep technical and architectural knowledge within WAN and network in general
- The ability to understand business needs and accordingly design new services or infrastructure functionality
- Several years of experience of global IT and network environments covering routing, switching, WAN optimization, MP-BGP, Ethernet QoS, DMVPN, VPLS etc
- Experience of planning and design and lifecycle management for global WAN networks (either from operator or big IT organizations)
- Experience and knowledge of ITIL and ITSM
- Experience and understanding of Data Privacy implications on architecture
- Experience of high and low level design work
- Good communication skills in both Swedish and English
- Preferably CCNP and/or CCDP certified
- Experience and understanding of network security, Datacenter and Wi-Fi would be beneficial but not a requirement

Experience from project requirement work is a merit, as well as experience of network delivery and operations from either telecoms or large information technology companies.
