Job Description

We are looking for smart, knowledgeable, and creative people to strengthen our efforts in the ongoing 5G standardization. In these efforts, we work together in tight and diverse teams to define and realize new capabilities for the mobile networks, which are used by billions of people worldwide. This includes further increasing the network performance we experience today with our smartphones and tablets, but also improving the networks’ support for the digital transformation of industries and societies. For the latter, we design optimized connectivity solutions for billions of new devices and things, which enable completely new uses of the mobile networks and will create immense societal value.

In our unit at Ericsson Research, Network Architecture and Protocols, we have the mission to develop and drive best-in-class procedures, protocols and architecture solutions for current and future mobile systems spanning the radio, core, and transport networks.

As a researcher in the 5G standardization, you will participate in advanced research project teams developing new concepts and solutions for 5G networks. You will develop new ways of realizing network functionality based on, e.g., state-of-the art Cloud Native, state of the art SW/NW orchestration and control, and taking web technologies into account. You will innovate and invent new concepts and evaluate their performance using our state-of-the-art Cloud Native as well as high performance test-beds. Experience in standardization work, especially in 3GPP, and/or experience of making use of and evaluating results based on Cloud Native implementations is a plus.

Your abilities:

• Strong analytical skills, eagerness to find innovative solutions to complex problems.

• Excellent programming skills and experience in developing Cloud Native solutions

• Strong interest in digital and wireless communications and of cellular systems design, in-depth understanding is a plus.
