We are now looking for a Standardization Engineers Radio Access Network Management and Orchestration.  The Product Development Unit (PDU) 4G&5G is responsible for development, release and maintenance of both 4G and 5G Networks.

 

The introduction of 5G will mean a paradigm shift when it comes to operation and management of the Radio Access Networks. In 5G network we introduce a new distributed architecture and lifting part of the Radio Network to a virtualized environment. To handle the increased complexity of the system we are introducing new technologies like cloud orchestration, machine learning, automation and analytics.

 

For Ericsson it is important to be a leading player in the industry when forming the new 5G management. The work is driven within standardization forums (e.g. 3GPP and ETSI) and Open Source initiatives (e.g. ONAP).  Through this job you will gain experience in cutting-edge technology in an international environment that inspires you to lead.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in an Ericsson wide standardization team
  • Write contributions in your area of responsibility
  • Review and comment contributions (proposals) from other companies
  • Secure connection to the Ericsson strategies and product development through active networking with the affected parts (product units and product leaders) of the organization
  • Participate in international standardization meetings to represent Ericsson, where you drive how future management and orchestration will work for mobile systems
  • Discussing future standard proposals with operators (customers) and other vendors (competitors)
  • Support product units and product leaders on how the standard can be interpreted.

 

Travelling will be required to participate in the standardization meetings which are held world-wide.  As our unit also is responsible for product development in the area there are good opportunities to coordinate with the development projects and rotate between product development and standardization.

 

Position Qualifications

You are self-motivated and analytical with a high ability to understand, develop and drive technical solutions. The daily work requires high abilities to work in teams as well as independently to achieve results on time and with quality.

 

Your profile

  • MSc level in a technical discipline or the equivalent level of knowledge
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • High level of Mobile Network understanding in general
  • Well-developed understanding of working in early phases of system development
  • Strong communication & coaching skills
  • Experience in Operation and Management, Cloud technologies, Machine Learning, Security and/or Analytics is beneficial
  • Strong self-drive, perseverance
  • Experience from system design in the telecom network management domain, radio access networks, O&M, Cloud technologies and security is a plus
  • Experience from working in standardization e.g. 3GPP or ETSI is beneficial
