At Global Inbound Logistics, you are part of a global supply team that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. To make this happen, we secure that all incoming transportation is designed, established, optimized and executed, cost efficiently and with exact precision, to the entire Volvo Cars organization. We belong to the Supply Chain Management organization. Currently we are 76 employees with in EMEA, organized in four groups. We are located in Gothenburg, Skövde, Olofström and Ghent for EMEA. We are working for a global alignment with our colleagues in APAC and Americas for process development.
Global Inbound & Packaging Optimization and Planning team are divided in to three major areas of responsibility. Currently we are 18 persons in the team. The purpose of the Global Inbound & Packaging Optimization and Planning organization is to identify and drive development of cost, service, and lead-time on a tactical (short -mid-term) level. The function shall improve, develop and implement the Inbound and Packaging transportation network as well as integrate new material part suppliers and carriers to create a reliable and efficient logistics network. The function shall secure that systems are kept up to date with accurate master data at all times and that new suppliers and carriers are introduced in a timely manner to support start of production for each flow and for any changes in network.
The role Logistics Engineer - Tactical Transport Planning and follow up- Carrier EMEA will work close with our carriers to secure that they have the right prerequisite in place to perform according to target. The main responsibilities are to ensure through constant improvements that area of responsibility meets the targets (budget, lead-time, frequency, bought capacity, utilization, and quality). You will report to the Senior Manager Global Inbound & Packaging Optimisation and Planning. The role is based in
