Data Analyst – Tech Procurement team i Stockholm

At Spotify, we are reinventing the music industry by changing how people consume music. The Tech Procurement team is responsible for procurement and delivery of the infrastructure products and services essential to delivering the Spotify service to its customers. We are a diverse team of analysts, procurement specialists, and engineers with a commercial focus in the technical department.

We are looking for a Data Analyst to join the band and help us drive a cost aware engineering culture across Spotify, through delivering actionable insights. You’ll be an essential partner in solving the problem of cloud computing, keeping costs in check for on-demand consumption, in a matrix organization with autonomous teams. At your fingertips you’ll have access to petabytes of data, and will get the opportunity to be creative with how you drive insights from that. Above all, your work will impact value for every dollar spent at Spotify.

Who you are

• You are intellectually curious, and don’t leave stones unturned, but realize you sometimes have to

• You have a few years of hands-on experience in a similar data analyst role and a degree in science, computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline.

• You have a deep understanding of numbers, as well as a strong business sense.

• You have the technical competence to perform advanced analytics with large datasets. That could include technologies such as Python, Scala, Pandas, R, SQL and BigQuery.

• You are capable of tackling very loosely defined problems.

• You are a communicative person that values building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and have the ability to explain complex topics in simple terms.

• You are a solutions-oriented team player. You are flexible and ready to do what brings most value to customers and other engineering teams at Spotify.

• You know or are interested in understanding financial concepts.

What you’ll do

• Perform analysis on large sets of data to extract actionable insights that will help drive decisions across the business

• Communicate data-driven insights and recommendations to key stakeholders

• Work with engineers and business managers to understand the change they are driving, and help them discover new opportunities

• Be an expert and sounding board to our business managers and partners

• Work from our offices in Stockholm and occasionally travel to our other engineering offices as required.
