Test development in Kumla is a part of Product Development Unit Radio and we have a global responsibility for radio production test development. Job Description

Within our unit we have several engineering positions open that we are looking to fill.
These positions are all focused on developing products and processes for our latest radio solutions. You can specialize in any of the different areas but they all have the same common goal and that is to put our products on the market quickly and efficiently.

 

As an embedded SW engineer you will design, develop, test and debug our embedded devices and system. You will also develop embedded methods for measurements and calibrations and integrate these solutions in our test platform.
This work is performed in close cooperation with both hardware and software design and verification.

 

As a test developer you develop and maintains our test platform solutions that consist of a variety of software, hardware and drivers. You will develop methods for measurements and calibrations and integrate these solutions in our test platform.
This work is performed in close cooperation with both product design and verification department since both processes and products are developed simultaneously.

As a verification engineer your focus is to specify measurement methodology as well as verifying the test development results. You also work with product design to help develop a product that is producible within the set margins of performance, quality and price. 

 

Our Hardware developers are either working to develop our mechanical or our electronics platform solutions.
The mechanics are manly designing fixtures, fixture concepts, automation and cabinet solutions.
Our electronics team design test boards, switchboxes and interface solutions.   

We are part of a global community and we cooperate with other units within Ericsson in an effort to use best practice as well as reuse our solutions as much as possible.


Qualifications

We see that you have a university degree in engineering and/or several years of experience as an engineer/developer or similar line of work. You need to be analytical and understand large and complex systems and platforms.
For the specific roles you need to have the following qualifications.
 

Embedded SW engineer:
Extensive programming experience in C and C++. Good knowledge of Linux. Good knowledge of version control system like GIT. Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.


Test developer:
Very good knowledge of PC-software, electronics, and measurement methodology as well as Radio RF and RF-Instrument experience, programming (C++/C#) and data com. You should also have telecommunications knowledge or experience.
 

Verification engineer:
Very good knowledge of Radio RF design, DC/DC design, PA design, PCB design and antenna design. You also need to have knowledge or experience from RF-Instruments.


Hardware developer electronics:
AutoCAD, Cadence, analog and DC/DC design, high Speed digital design PCB layout, EMC theory, containment strategies and techniques. Embedded software knowledge, FPGA design and RF-design.


Hardware developer mechanics:
Design of mechanics and automation, CAD competence in Inventor and Creo 3 + PDMlink/Windchill. Knowledge of MD (Machine Directive), LVD (Low Voltage Directive), Electro Magnetic combability (EMC Directive) Knowledge of EMC theory, containment strategies and techniques.


You should be comfortable when it comes to reading and speaking both conversational and technical English as well as Swedish. Understanding and accepting cultural differences is important since you will be working with engineers from different parts of the world. As our responsibility is global, there are great opportunities for travel, both within Sweden and abroad.
