Front End Developer at Scania i Sodertalje

Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient IT solutions that support current and future business requirements.
In this new reality for Scania, our future customer does not only sit behind the steering wheel but is also a user of our transport solutions provided in a digital system sitting in an office.

The group Standardized Interfaces is responsible for web components and guidelines assuring that Scania’s software solutions are in line with our brand identity, assuring our new customers have a premium experience using our software.

The work environment at Scania’s IT department is international and our employees are representing many different nationalities and countries. To this exciting and dynamic environment we are now looking for new IT-professionals.

Your responsibility
You will be part of a team that is responsible for Scania’s “Corporate UI Service”, a component library based on Custom Elements designed using Twitter Bootstrap CSS and mark-up. Together with you, we continuously develop that library in collaboration with Scania’s Branding and our many consumers. Apart from the actual development, you will be involved in helping development projects using our library and support projects in usability evaluation by using prototypes.
 
Your profile
When you talk about development and modern technologies you get excited! You have an academic education in Information Technology. Work life experience of 3-7 years is required as a minimum. Having experiences from large enterprises with many subsidiaries is an advantage.

Since you are involved in many different development projects with different stakeholders, you need to have good command of the English language. On top of that, you are a driving personality with a big interest and knowhow in UX and web design, more specifically:

• HTML5 and CSS3
• Custom Elements
• Twitter Bootstrap
• Vanilla JavaScript, jQuery and Ajax
• JS MV*-framework, preferably AngularJS
• REST APIs
• Responsive web design
• GitHub workflow and versioning
• High Fidelity Prototyping
• Browser compatibility and its development tools

The location
Scania headquarter is located less than 40 km south of Stockholm city. It is easily accessible by regional train, commuter train, bus or car. Scania's own bus line, Scania Job Express, goes from Stockholm city directly to Scania in Sodertalje.
