Our team consists of a handful of employees who help with tasks and deliveries. The pace is often fast, and the reward is quick results based on your designs.

The work is undertaken in project form in close cooperation with other teams in the group and a number of functions within Research and Development, Marketing, Aftermarket, Purchasing and Production.

The Customized Truck Development department is responsible for, among other things, customer and market adaptations of trucks outside Scania’s basic range, known as “S orders”. This is an area where Scania is making investments in order to break new ground in new segments and markets. More than ten per cent of Scania trucks sold are special orders.
We strive to be the small company in the larger company, with a flexible, solution-focused approach to work and short decision paths.

Our “Design and Predevelopment” group is responsible for new development of S-order solutions. This involves everything from trucks using alternative fuels to adapted solutions for use in mines, heavy transport or refuse trucks, for instance.

We are 18 people plus a group of expert consultants, with varied experience and a clear culture of helping one another in our daily work. The skills and interests of everyone are put to use in the best way possible.

Your tasks
You will initially join our team as a designer who develops trucks for gas fuel operations, CNG and LNG, where we install what is required in the form of gas engines, gas tanks, etc. and ensure that all this works as required by the customer.
 
We begin with customer enquiries and produce solutions based on Scania’s modular system. This ensures optimum customer satisfaction without compromising on quality and guarantees that the solution can be manufactured in Scania’s production system.
 
We also ensure that previously successful customisations also function when Scania’s “standard product” is changed.
 
The proximity to Scania’s customers is unique for us as a development function and is something that stimulates us every day. Visiting our suppliers, distributors and customers is also part of the job.
We have an office in Södertälje and now also in Liljeholmen, where we carry out development assignments, so there is scope to help develop our operations there.
 
Your profile
You will have an MSc or BSc in Engineering with a general profile rather than an interest in specialising within a narrower field. You will understand and have an interest in how the truck as a whole and its system works.
 
Previous experience of Scania’s modular system, product structure and CATIA V5 would be an advantage. You will be proficient in written and spoken Swedish and English.

The work demands a great deal in terms of flexibility, the desire to help, your drive, and a structured and meticulous approach to work.
