H&M HOME is a brand within the New Business Group at H&M that currently consists of seven separate brands: COS, & Other Stories, H&M HOME, Monki, Weekday, Cheap Monday & Arket. Each brand sets their own vision, goals and strategies to ensure growth and profitability through colleagues, best customer experience, offering, efficiency and expansion. H&M HOME was launched in 2009 and is currently present on 46 markets through 332 shop-in-shops and on 38 markets online at hm.com. We see great potential for the brand to become a strong player in the global interior industry and are therefore investing in further developing the brand and building the organization.

 

The controller that we are looking for will be a part of a team that is responsible to drive the sales and profitability for H&M Home’s new concept stores in Europe. We refer to this team as the area team thus the position is called area controller.

 

Area Controller at H&M Home

 

As Area Controller at H&M Home, you are the analyst in the team and with a strong business sense you create conditions for growth and profitability through setting goals, controlling and following up. Europe is your work field and together with the team you secure a supreme customer experience, selling, profitability, and operational excellence for H&M Home's new concept stores. The role will be very multifaceted with different challenges every day and includes substantial traveling within Europe. This is a new role at H&M Home which means you will have a significant role in setting the strategy going forward and the way of working for the new concept stores.

 

Your responsibilities

 

The role as Area Controller comes with lots of responsibility – and lots of fun. Your responsibilities include among other things:

 

  • Work with the area manager/store managers to create annual and quarterly sales budgets, utilizing historical data, known events and benchmarking.
  • Monitor, analyze, and benchmark weekly / daily sales plans, conversion and results.
  • Work in partnership with each store manager to ensure an effective schedule is in place to guarantee our customers an excellent level of service that promotes purchases both in store and online.
  • Ensure each store is following the correct operational routines, including delivery, replenishment and cash handling.
  • Train and develop store teams in staff planning, profit & loss and scheduling.
  •  Ensure the stores work in line with H&M Home vision, mission and goals always living our brand DNA towards the customer.

Your profile

 

We are looking for a curious and warm person with great leadership skills who has the positive attitude to inspire and motivate others. You are used to being an informal leader and naturally take the role as an analyst in the team. You are organized and have a strong pedagogical ability to communicate goals and results in an inspiring way to the rest of the team. You will have a key role with your analyzing skill to support the area team to prioritize and to be as efficient as possible. You set an example with straight forward communication skills and ability to create an open atmosphere. You love to travel and travelling on a weekly basis to different countries/cities is a natural part of your job.

 

To be successful in this role we also think you need:

  • a Bachelor's degree preferably within finance, business or economics major
  • approximately 2-3 years’ experience from working within controlling or similar
  • experience from retail/FMCG is meritorious but not a requirement
  • excellent skills in Microsoft Office and excel
  • the role requires you to be fluent in English both written and verbally

You will be located at H&M Home's head office in Stockholm and report to the Area Manager for H&M Home Concept Stores.
