Om tjänsten

In future, the control systems in Scania engines and gearboxes will become more and more important for function, performance and environmental impact. The Powertrain Control Systems Development department is responsible for development of control systems for our powertrains.

The Engine Combustion Control SW group consists of 12 committed developers with responsibility for the application software for our engines and associated units. The group has a wide remit and covers, among other things, control of torque and fuel quantity, cooling and oil systems and combustion modelling. The group is currently looking for a development engineer for software development within combustion modelling and combustion control.

Your duties
Your role will be to develop strategies and implement and test functions for the engine’s control systems within the group’s remit. All this ensures we create a better product from the perspective of performance, emissions and consumption. You will have a broad network of contacts and follow your functions from specification to validation. Queries which arise along the way will be handled both within and outside the group. One important element of the work will involve presenting your function to other specialists and underpinning technical reasoning with measurement data from vehicles and/or engine test cells. This means that you will also be verifying the functions in vehicles on the road, on chassis dynamometers, in engine test cells and during climate tests. The functions are implemented in C or code-generated from Stateflow/Simulink.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with an MSc in engineering, or equivalent, with an interest in technology and a background in combustion modelling and combustion control. You will have experience of one or more of our tools, with Matlab, C and Simulink being key tools in our work. As a person, you will be analytical and will enjoy solving problems, but you will also like having a network of contacts that takes you well beyond the boundaries of your group. You are adaptable, and although you will often work on long-term projects, you will also be able to adapt to rapid changes. You have a licence to drive cars. Proficiency in spoken and written English is a requirement. Knowledge of Swedish would be an advantage.

Other engine-related experience would also be an advantage.

However, your drive and passion for being involved at the cutting edge of product development is considered most important.

We offer
In addition to career and development opportunities, we can also offer Scania employees other benefits, such as an employee car, performance bonuses, a pension, flexible working hours, lunch at reduced prices and much more. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and Södertälje, the Scania Jobexpress.
