The team members of Project Purchasing Electronics are working in a dynamic environment where the development of electric components to Scania products is running fast and requirements both on the products and our suppliers are increasing. Time to market is a priority where the project purchasers responsibility is to meet Scania needs with the best business case.
Responsibilities
As a Project Purchaser you are accountable for Purchasing’s deliverables to the Product Development projects. The Project Purchaser plan and perform sourcing activities in order to achieve project targets with regards to Technology, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Sustainability.
The Project Purchaser will propose supplier to the Sourcing Board based on negotiated terms and conditions, and then join the project with the suppliers until the implementation in production is done. This gives a big variety of challenges and tasks to make sure that we can support our internal customers as well as handling the commercial set up with our suppliers.
You will be working closely together with the supplier and R&D, but also with many other internal functions, to reach common goals in global projects.
Within Purchasing you will work closely to our sister groups who are responsible for Purchasing of parts in serial production and Supplier Quality, where You will be requested to align your activities into the shared supplier strategies.
Since your responsibility projects will be mainly common development projects within Volkswagen Truck&Bus You will be requested to work together with and align with colleagues internationally where complete business case for all involved brands will be amongst your responsibility.
In development projects the demands and pre-requisites can change fast which requires you to be a problem solver and find quick solutions but still keeping your targets and deliveries.
Your profile
You are probably proactive, structured, organized, flexible, take own initiatives, are able to handle multiple open cases, have a strong commercial interest and love to do business and negotiate.
You have at least 3 years of purchasing experience, are ready to take on a more senior role with strategic mindset and the ability to educate others.
As the role involves a large international network and travelling, you are fluent in writing and speaking English. Other language skills are an advantage.
You like to work with cross functions and represent Purchasing in a way where we are a respected partner which delivers as promised and according to targets in a professional way.
You are used to performing management presentations where your recommendation/point is made clear and you have the ability to summarize the most important information/results from a 2 year project into 15 min.
Technical knowledge about electronic components is a merit but not a requirement, however you have a big technical interest.
Your work includes a lot of interactions at different levels, both internally and cross-functionally, it is important that you have the ability to collaborate and build trust and are clear in your communication with others. You should have high integrity with a good judgment and can adapt to work according to Scania leadership principles.
