Om tjänsten

Would you like to help develop Scania’s future electrical components?

The transport sector is currently taking a huge technological leap forward, with the development of autonomous, electrified and connected vehicles delivering brand new challenges and exciting opportunities. Scania’s future vehicles will be equipped with a large number of sensors (lasers, radars, cameras) that require strong processors for image and signal processing in real time, wireless communication, intelligent light technology, components for smart climate systems and large battery circuits – and not least a comfortable cab environment with, for instance, screen-based functionality and accentuating interior lighting.

We are now pressing on in this area and are therefore looking for a number of new employees for the teams responsible for the design of

  • Electrical control units
  • Sensors and actuators
  • Controls and screens in the cab
  • Interior and exterior lighting

Take this opportunity to devote yourself to world-class design and technical problem-solving! Our section within Scania R&D consists of a large number of skilled engineers who actively work on both soft and hard issues. We help and inspire one another, have a documented good work climate and have fun at work.

Your duties
As a component owner with one of the teams, you will be responsible for producing the best technical solution. This means that you will work cross-functionally in projects together with colleagues in styling and ergonomics, system architecture, Production, Purchasing, Aftermarket, and so on. You will work on requirements settings, coordinate testing and supplier contacts, and will have overall responsibility for the component – you will be the hub of the network. To assist, you will have experienced colleagues and a large organisation to support and share knowledge with you. You do not need to be an expert in everything, but the important thing is that you can see the complete picture, understand and can critically assess the requirements for function, ergonomics and strength that we set for a component.

Your profile
We are looking for someone who is curious and likes technology and finding smart and attractive solutions. You will search for the data you need yourself and will be happy bouncing your ideas around with colleagues. You will be used to working in a group and will appreciate international partnerships. You will have solid and documented working knowledge of either electronics, mechanics or mechatronics and will not be afraid to challenge your own and others’ accepted truths. You will find it easy to handle and coordinate many contacts. You will be proficient in both Swedish and English. Experience of an area such as vehicle electronics, lighting technology or agile development would also be an advantage.

You will need knowledge equivalent to at least an MSc in Engineering.

We offer
In addition to career and development opportunities, we can also offer Scania employees other benefits, such as an employee car, performance bonuses, free gym and sports facilities, a pension, flexible working hours, lunch at reduced prices and much more. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and Södertälje, the Scania Job Express.
