Together with one of Ericsson’s lead customer we are drafting a new way of implementing LTE utilizing the experience we have deployed on a dramatically different platform. We now need you to help systemize, implement and verify this solution.

The organization you will become part of:

RAN-I, within the Product Development Unit (PDU) 4G&5G, is the new Incubator unit where we make brilliant new ideas grow into products. Our organization is newly formed and we strive to strengthen it with skilled people with various experiences. Therefore, we are searching for people who are eager to create something exciting and want to join us on our journey.

We will be responsible for providing Radio Access development on a server / cloud infrastructure as a well as driving the ONAP management and orchestration into the 5G future. You will be one of the initial few bringing the solutions we develop from systemization to product introduction and release, taking an end-to-end product responsibility. You will be a key contributor when it comes to innovative mindset and making sure new methods and skills are tried out and developed.

What you will do within the organization:

Being one of the first in the organization, you will be a key player when it comes to setting up environment, tools, testing framework and strategies together with some of the exceptional people already involved. Together with other developers you will work in a team who is responsible for the software and hardware products they develop, from early phases of ideas and drafts – all the way to customer delivery. Each member of the team contributes with their expertise. In addition to work tasks solely related to the software product itself, communication, and coordination both between team-members and teams are essential.

Your qualifications:

The setup and responsibility of the RAN-I organization implies that the roles will be cross functional, i.e. you will not only work with systemization, implementation or verification but rather slide between the different tasks depending on need. We will be a small group of people that will do it all and if we don’t do it, no one else will do it for us. This means that your personal qualities are important for us and we believe that you are productive, creative and interact easy with other people. You must be comfortable to work with unspecified roles and changing requirements. In addition, you have the ability to plan and drive your own work in order to reach common goals together with your team.  Furthermore, you are positively set and strive to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

You have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or equivalent discipline, or the equivalent level of knowledge. It is also beneficial if you have knowledge within any of the areas: Telecommunication, Cloud, ONAP, Machine Learning, and AI. We assume that you can speak and write in fluent English.

General requirements for all profiles

• Strong Programming skills C, C++
• Strong Experience Linux based development
• Experience with open source tool chains
• Broad experience of programming various types of application is a plus

We expect you to be well versed with all our general requirements and one or more of the following skill set:

LTE L2 developer

•  Strong PDCP knowledge
• Strong User Plane and Control Plane LTE knowledge
• Strong RAC-BB interfaces knowledge

LTE L3 developer

• Strong LTE Radio Resource control knowledge
• Strong RAC-BB interfaces knowledge
• Strong O&M (MCS and Config) knowledge
• Strong LRH knowledge
• Strong in 3gpp eNb/UE/MME interaction. 
• Strong in scripting 

Systemization of LTE

• Strong Applied knowledge of LTE features and their representation into algorithms and SW
• Strong in 3gpp eNb/UE/MME/OSS/ENM interaction. 
• Strong RAC-BB interfaces knowledge

Integration and Test

• Strong Knowledge about Testing framework, Build Environment, Continuous Integration and Test strategy
• Strong in scripting 
• Strong in 3gpp eNb/UE/MME interaction. 
• Strong experience in integration driven development and boundary crossing integration
  • Radio / OSS - ENM / Platform / Baseband / Traffic Control
  • External & Internal interfaces
