Description of the Unit


Digital Transformation & IT is a unit within BA Technology & Emerging Business, with the aim to drive our digital strategy, vision and to ensure cross-functional execution. Analytics is a key theme of Ericsson Digital Transformation and competence is now consolidated to drive business transformation through automation and analytics, and to ensure a secure and scalable development, deployment and continued insight driven operations.

 

The Ericsson Group Analytics (EGA) Unit is responsible for developing and operationalizing the strategy for Analytics. The team provides critical insights using analytics, ensures cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and initiatives. We focus on aligning business priorities with strong day-to-day operations and help evolve ideas into future-growth initiatives. We enable the success of our operational teams by driving strategy, leading business planning, crafting communications, and developing data insights to drive business decisions. Specializing in operational reporting, data insights and data analysis, the EGA team leverages big data sets, analytical tools, and business partnering to help all of the Global Ericsson’s organizations to provide world-class insights and drive smart business decisions.

 
Job Description


The Head of EGA is first and foremost a leader within the department, managing the Data and Analytics team. The Head of EGA drives performance of analytics solutions to impact overall business results while keeping costs in check and ensuring the department remains within the planned budget. The Head of EGA is responsible for setting the departmental vision and culture and championing for the use of data in making key business and operational decisions. The Head of EGA oversees the day-to-day analytical approaches and exploring solutions to particular problems. She/he is also tasked with the management and long-term prioritization of the unit’s overall analytical needs and opportunities. The Head of EGA additionally defines the business questions that need be answered and defines appropriate analytics models in addition to identifying and readying relevant data sources for analysis. In her/his leadership capacity, the Head of EGA takes initiative in developing a training programs meant for improving the departmental heads’ understanding of the use of data, which improves decision-making across the business. In this capacity, the Head of EGA will also play a mentorship role to personnel, constantly honing their professional skills, and preparing them for the occupation of his position in future.

 

 

The role demands considerable flexibility in quickly adapting to shifting needs, as well as strong leadership and change management experience, and is expected to effectively cover a range of responsibilities including, but not limited to:

 


• Establish the EGA vision and to drive business value through Analytics and actionable Insights
• Drive performance of analytics solutions and services to impact overall business results
• Create data-driven approaches for the purpose of generating business- and operational insights through analytics, information visualization, and addressing unanswered business issues in a proactive manner
• Collaborate with numerous departments across the business, aiding them in the proper use of data, hence, ensuring the delivery of desired operational results
• Manage overall program steering in the unit(s), performance, benefit realization and long-term agenda
• Provide thought leadership and shape the knowledge base within Analytics area
• Take initiative in developing a training programs meant for improving the departmental heads’ understanding of the use of data, which improves decision-making across the business

Qualifications
• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Information Systems, Statistics, Applied Math, Business Administration, or any other related field. An equivalent of this requirement in working experience is also acceptable for the position
• Proven and successful experience in the execution of data analytics initiatives, leading to the development of useful insights and the improvement of a business’s performance
• Strong leadership skills and track record leading multi-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form. The Head of Group Analytics will be meant to interact with numerous departments’ personnel and departmental heads/management aiding them in the proper application of data, leading to functional improvement. As a departmental leader, the clarity of his communications down the line will be a major contributing factor to the performance and effectiveness of the organization
• Excellent computer skills and be highly proficient in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, PowerPoint, which will all be necessary in the creation of visually and verbally engaging reports, for departmental heads/management, senior data analytics management, and key stakeholders
• Self-motivated, and proactive, taking initiative and going beyond his call of duty, be helpful and service-oriented, have exceptional problem-solving skills, work comfortably in a cross-functional setting, work comfortably with senior executives, take accountability for the business’s performance, and have an ability to remain calm and composed under stress and uncertainty, inspiring the same in his team
