As our next Solution Architect you will be a part of New Business Online. An area that is responsible for developing and maintaining our brands’ e-commerce Online solution. Our online platform integrates with multiple systems within H&M in order to deliver the whole value chain to our customers from ordering a product, paying for it and finally receiving it. We have a fast-paced business with constant changes, so you must like being a part of a growing and ever-changing environment.


As Solution Architect you will work in both a complex and dynamic environment. You will be responsible for how solutions are implemented both within our platform and cross platform with other systems. An important part of the role is ensuring that our architecture is aligned with overall strategies and guidelines set by our EA vision.


To succeed in this role, we believe you are self-driven and can prioritize your workload with minimal supervision, you are not afraid to seek knowledge on your own. Apart from being good at your trade and having solid experience of working with architecture in complex environments, we think you have the ability to adapt to changing business demands.

Your responsibilities


The job of an Solution Architect at H&M comes with a lot of responsibility – and lots of fun.


Your to do-list includes:


  • Being responsible for solution design and lead solution analysis within our e-commerce platform as well as cross platforms
  • Working closely with various stakeholders, among them business, to analyse feasibility in new requirements and projects
  • Having a dialogue with vendors regarding architecture, design and best practices concerning our platform
  • Understanding the whole platform solution as well as the individual components, how these relate and interact and which dependencies exist between them
  • Assessing and documenting how change impacts the solution
  • Implementing architecture guidelines & principles in our solution
  • Making sure that solutions are aligned with target architecture & road-map
  • Supporting our Area Architect with strategic work by participating in developing target architecture, roadmaps, guidelines and principles


Your skills


Just like everyone at H&M, we believe you are a social, open, communicative, sales-minded and ambitious team player full of drive and optimism.


And your skills include:


  • 3-7 years experience as a Solution Architect or similar, with experience of large IT landscapes
  • An understanding of business processes and the ability to translate them into a solution architecture, both from a tactical and strategic perspective
  • Experience in creating, implementing and documenting solution
  • architecture where aspects such as ownership of data, integrations patterns, capabilities, maintainability, scalability and performance are covered
  • Good at expressing yourself and explaining complex matters in a simple way
  • Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written


It is an advantage if you have experience from Hybris eCommerce, Adobe Campaign or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Experience of working with e-commerce solutions. It’s also a plus if you have experience of working with external vendors of IT services, managed service and/or offshore situations.
