The Regional Environmental Program Manager will be responsible for the regional environmental compliance program of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Sweden. You will develop standards and policies to enhance our regulatory compliance efforts as well as provide environmental compliance guidance to our regional operations and construction teams. You will perform environmental performance analysis and guide the team in implementation of the Amazon environmental standards. You will work with internal and external partners that include AWS Legal, government entities, contractors, consultants, operations and other key stakeholders. This position is based in the Stockholm area (and surroundings) and will require some domestic and international travel.
The Regional Environmental Program Manager must have excellent communication skills in English and Swedish, strong environmental regulatory knowledge, strong permitting experience and success in program management while leading teams on complex and technical projects.

Responsibilities

· Manage and oversee compliance with local and regional environmental regulations and Amazon policy. This includes all basic environmental compliance disciplines.
· Develop regional strategic programs by enhancing engineering, construction, and operations. Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization.
· Function as a leader regarding regulatory agency interactions, permit evaluation and processing, and new process and technology introduction in the business.
· Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees are completed in accordance with Amazon third-party standards.
· Develop environmental performance metrics and measure and monitor against those metrics for process improvement.
· Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement.
· Prioritize and administer multiple technically complex assignments concurrently.
· Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company.
· Responsible for environmental compliance budget and spend.
· Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risk are identified early and managed appropriately.

• You have an education in Environmental or a similar field.
• You have several years of experience working with environmental regulations in Sweden.
• You have applied for, obtained and managed sites through the environmental permitting process in Sweden.
• You have experience of interacting and negotiating with Swedish Local Authorities and Environmental Regulators .
• You have successfully completed environmental impact statements (EIS).
• You have successfully implemented environmental systems.
• You have the ability to communicate in Swedish and English.
• You have relevant and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of manufacturing/construction or general industry environmental standards and legislation.
• You are highly motivated and meticulous in attention to professional standards.
• You have excellent organizational and project management skills.
• You have strong interpersonal skills: good communication skills, strong relationship builder, good influencing and negotiation skills and the ability to coach.
• You have knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
