Digital Banking is the most exciting place to be in Swedbank right now, with the responsibility for customer experience, innovation, development and maintenance of our channels and tools used in customer meetings. The organisation consists of around 600 employees spread over all our home markets. We are a rapidly growing unit and one of the most strategically important areas of the bank, being the main driving force in establishing an agile and customer centric development culture.

The Digital Transformation Analysis team is part of Digital Banking and consists of 10 senior analysts and transformation managers with knowledge and tools to solve complex business problems. The team supports our agile journey with analysis and advice in assignments each having a great potential to affect the direction of our digital services to create loyal and satisfied customers.

As head of the Digital Transformation Analysis team you will be direct manager for a team of 10 employees in Sweden and Baltics. In your role you will be responsible for:

  •  Being a strong voice in securing that Digital Banking's channel development road-maps reflect the bank's strategic challenges
  • Securing efficient resource planning, management, reporting and coordination of initiatives (and projects) to drive digital transformation agenda
  • Building a strong team and future-proofing it with the right competency
  • Originate and analyse investment opportunities, together with senior stakeholders in Digital Banking and
  • Inspire colleagues in how to work, based on best practises, to enable driving an efficient digital transformation of our bank

What you need to succeed
  • You have a demonstrated ability to build, motivate and lead a team
  • You are forward-thinking in digital transformation with good knowledge about global trends and changes to customer behaviour.
  • You understand how new technologies can be applied by the bank and what future digital services that can strengthen the bank's position
  • You are comfortable in challenging the status quo to leverage the potential of digital
  • You have great interpersonal skills, highly collaborative and used to managing uncertainty in complex issues and differing views between senior stakeholders
  • You are a great storyteller that contextualize complex challenges into a narrative that inspires and motivates people around you
  • You have a high delivery capacity, with the ability to work effectively under time pressure, while at the same time providing support and advise to your team
  • You have a track-record of successfully having created and implemented a digital change agenda, not necessarily within the financial industry
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills with English being a requirement and Swedish and/or Baltics languages is an advantage

  • Team manager within relevant area, e.g. digital business development
  • Management consultant primarily within Strategy and/or operations excellence
  • Senior agile product owner for a relevant digital service
  • Senior digital manager

Why work with me? - Mikael Byström

I started working for Swedbank in 2008 during the prelude to the financial crisis. For many years I worked in a team focusing on the bank's strategy and M&A. It has been rewarding and highly educational having been part of the shift in focus from bad credits to preparing the bank to leverage the exciting opportunities that digital entail.
I get a lot of energy from working with people with a strong drive and a positive attitude. In such an environment I find myself thriving. Having worked for a long time in a modern "matrix organisation", I often promote the importance of being convincing but not commanding.

I am an analytical person with an extensive background in academia, and I value doing the right analysis before taking action. I actively balance my analytical side with a more creative and non-traditional banking perspective. For a number of years I had a leading role in building an advertising agency outside of Swedbank. This cemented my belief that a strong narrative, often based on our need and beliefs, is crucial in driving successful change.
