Your future responsibilities
We are currently looking for one Associate Director to join our market leading Leveraged Finance team. Previous experience from leveraged finance, fixed income, corporate finance or debt capital markets related positions is preferred.
Consisting of approximately 35 highly dedicated professionals across the Nordics, Leveraged Finance is responsible for arranging, structuring and executing a variety of debt transactions for private equity backed transactions including e.g. leveraged buyouts, acquisition financings, recapitalisations and refinancing’s.
Leveraged Finance takes responsibility for all parts of the debt value chain including pitching, structuring, execution and ultimately the distribution of debt instruments across financial markets.
We work across different types of financings such as bilateral/club bank loans as well as externally rated distributed leveraged loans and HY-bonds. Our team aim to deliver on high work ethics and strong client focus together with a positive and non-hierarchal mindset, promoting all in the team to take on responsibility.
What you'll be doing:
- Project management including co-ordination and support of Analysts/Associates that you are working with and when executing on transactions
- Company analysis and financial modelling to understand company specific risk and transactions, including preparation and review of relevant materials used in the financing of clients such as investment memorandums, management presentations and pitch books
- Demonstrate profound understanding of the clients' commercial and financial considerations by suggesting appropriate and alternative solutions to address client needs
- Entertain strong relationships with clients to win, keep and develop client business
- Pro-actively identify attractive transaction opportunities and position Nordea Leveraged Finance as counterparty with respect to such opportunities
- Stay updated on market development on products and services in order to ensure relevant advice and services to clients and be able to concisely summarise recommendations as well as market updates both in writing and verbally to clients and internal stakeholders

Academic background with strong communication skills in English combined with presentation skills and a solid knowledge of basic tools such as Excel and Power Point are considered necessary. Projects will be in collaboration with other teams within Nordea including our Advisory team (M&A and ECM advisory), Leveraged Loan and High Yield Syndicate and Credit sales, Corporate solutions (derivatives and hedging advisory) and our Fixed income, Corporate debt advisory and C&IB teams’ that are advising corporate clients.
