RAN-I, within the Product Development Unit (PDU) 4G&5G, is the new Incubator unit where we make brilliant new ideas grow into products. The Sub-Project Manager for Open Source Contributions will work within the 5G RAN Explorer program closely with the product owner, product managers, the Open Source technical coordinator, the RAN-I leadership team and several development teams in BNEW to secure efficient integration of the Open Source platform with the radio nodes through close technical alignment between the teams and coordinated positions in the Open Source open source community. As a Sub-Project Manager you will perform all project management duties including planning, executing, and reporting. You will also participate in fostering a creative and learning culture.

Responsibilities:

• You will be required to create and follow up on the plans for contributing to and integrating the Open Source platform with radio products

• Communicate the goals, coach and lead team to achieve the goals

• Manage different stakeholders, located both in BNEW and BDGS as well as E/// customers

Key Qualifications:

• currently in a R&D Project Manager Stage 7 or equivalent position in accordance to the Ericsson R&D professional model.

• understand phases of product development, end-to-end from pre-studies to trials in customer networks

• experience with open source

• proven record of accountabilities from areas such as; resource management, competence management, business leadership, thought leadership, people leadership and organizational leadership.

• proven negotiation skills

• it is beneficial to have broad experience from leading SW development projects in different parts of the end-to-end flow. We believe that at least 8 years of experience are required

• strong understanding of O&M in radio, NMS/OSS systems, as well as cloud platforms such as Openstack and Kubernetes constitutes an advantage
