Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania Purchasing is responsible for buying products and services for all of Scania’s units around the world. The global purchasing function is based in Södertälje. The team working in Commodity Supplies at General Purchasing is responsible for marketing- and communication products, services and events, travel management, business- and security services, automotive fluids, industrial chemicals, as well as cutting- and processing tools.

We are now looking for a Sourcing Manager to join our team and take responsibility for Scania’s future purchase of marketing- and communication services and events.

Your duties
As a Sourcing Manager you will be responsible for setting and executing the sourcing strategy for marketing and communication services globally at Scania. This includes performing competitive sourcing, securing terms and conditions for events, campaigns and other marketing- and communication projects, as well as negotiating and closing orders and frame contracts in this segment. The role includes to manage, challenge and develop the supplier base to ensure sourcing to the best quality, delivery, technology and cost with a focus on sustainability. You will be responsible for creating business plans, preparing and executing presentations for Scania’s and VW Group’s sourcing committees, and to continuously improve the current way of working cross-functionally with our internal customers.

The position involves coordination and cooperation with our purchasing colleagues at other Scania sites in the world, as well as within the VW Group, to ensure that we capture synergies in every sourcing decision. The work will be carried out in close cooperation with our internal customers, the marketing and communication departments. This means that you will have a wide network of contacts, both internally and externally.

The office is located in Södertälje, but the position will involve some travel to Scania’s and VW Group’s various units and suppliers.

Your profile
We are looking for a person with a strong commercial interest and result focus, with a sound ability to develop and maintain a broad network of contacts both internally and externally. You will probably have a few years’ experience of purchasing or have acquired equivalent knowledge in another way.

You should be capable of expressing yourself fluently in both spoken and written English (Swedish is beneficial), and have a university degree in a technical or economic field.
