Your roleBackground
The proposed thesis project aims to investigate efficient hardware realization of an arbitrary noise generator and to show how quantization effects will impact the generated noise.
You will be located at SAAB Surveillance (Järfälla), which will provide supervision concerning the development and provide necessary software tools.
Assignment
The main objective for the thesis work is to generate noise bandwidths that have sharp roll-off with neglectable spuriousness and side lobes given phase and bit-width quantization effects. Different random number generators needs to be explored and presented with their benefits and drawbacks. The noise shall execute in hardware (FPGA), implemented with VHDL and validated with lab equipment such a spectrum analyser.
Your skills and experienceWe believe that you are a motivated student with a strong interest in realisation of algorithms in hardware (FPGA). Furthermore, VHDL and practical lab equipment skills are essential. In addition you are fluent in spoken and written Swedish.
This position includes access to classified information, therefore you are required to conduct a security screening in accordance with the Protective Security Act and be approved for security clearance by the authority.
