Master thesis – focus area abstract / project goal/  objectives:

This thesis work is carried out for the development of pioneer mm wave 5G radio base station. 5G radio base station is presently designed with cascaded radio front ends connected to individual Antenna element in an array to achieve desire beam formation. To achieve beam forming needs greater yield among all closely packed radio front end blocks and thus the cost is very high. These radios are in use simultaneously for either MIMO or for multiplexing. The multiplexing is done in polarization domain and/or frequency domain.

 

The objective of this thesis is to verify and update a Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD) method for digital beam forming Advanced Antenna System (AAS). The method is based on machine learning where different kind of coupling between PA in AAS is cancelled out to have linear response of individual PA. This method needs to be studied with different measurement setups in low and High frequency and corresponding correction/update needs to be proposed

 

Requirements/ key qualifications:

  • Matlab and Simulink
  • Basic RF understanding
  • Basic RF measurement equipment handling experiences
  • FPGA design

 

We believe this thesis is done by one student or, preferably, two students working as a team together with us.
