Calculation Engineer - Strength/Durability i Sodertalje

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

As a calculation engineer you will provide the organisation with inspiration and knowledge in order to ensure the strength and durability of VW Truck and Bus future after treatment systems. Together we develop world leading products for both internal and external customers of Scania.

Our group is currently comprised of seven CAE engineers. We have now a need to expand due to future projects. We offer a collaborative environment where everyone participates in driving projects forward. As a new employee you will receive full backing and support from all group members.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Cooperate within different functions of R&D to develop after treatment components and systems, utilise loads acquired from truck measurements as inputs for simulations.
• Correlate simulations of dynamic systems and test results, to provide both support and direction to teams of designers.
• Analyse results from finite element simulations and prepare both reports and presentations, to assist with, and to effectively communicate your findings within various forums.
• Continually develop calculation methods with the help of new software and/or test data to improve efficiency and accuracy, both in-house and with the collaboration of external suppliers.
• Evaluate new information, processes and education within the discipline, to be able to improve the best-practice currently employed at Scania.

Yor profile

• You are a graduate mechanical engineer interested in vehicles and structural mechanics, who appreciate an environment with both individual and collaborative work tasks.
• Experience in dynamics in combination with fatigue is required.
• Both practical and theoretical knowledge of mechanical systems would be an advantage, as well as knowledge in the pre-processor HyperMesh and the FE solver Abaqus.
• Meritorious is experience in after treatment systems, optimization, weld & temperature simulations.
• As a person you are an analytic team player and have good communication and social skills.
