The department Powertrain Purchasing buy products for our global truck, bus and engine production. Currently we are in an intensive period with a lot of new projects, many of them carried out together with colleagues within the global VW / Traton group. We are looking for a committed team member interested in business and new technologies, so we can continue to deliver sustainable solutions to our customers. 

Your duties
In the role as Project Purchaser for Powertrain Components you are responsible for optimization of technology, quality, deliveries and cost for new components. Focus will be on challenging and developing design together with R&D and suppliers to ensure a successful implementation of the components into series production.

You lead the discussion with the suppliers all the way from concept development until start of production and work with request for quotations, technical discussions, cost analysis, order placement and industrialization.

The work gives a great opportunity to work with new technology and commercial strategies. You will also build a broad network since you work cross functionally together with representatives from Product Development, Quality, Production, Logistics and After Sales. 

Your profile
We are looking for someone who is commercial, result oriented, has strong ability to take initiative, are able to handle multiple open cases and at the same time look ahead and think strategically. You are good at maintaining relationships and enjoy having many contacts both internally and with our suppliers. We expect you to be an engineer or business graduate with a some years’ experience within purchasing or engineering, preferable in the automotive industry. As the role involves a large international network and travel, you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken English. Other language skills are an advantage.
