The right product positioning and securing long term profitability are key values for good pricing management within Sales and Marketing. The Pricing Manager role is now placed within the heart of product management to secure a close cooperation between the segments, product planning and operational presales. With the completely new product range just launched it is an exciting task to help shaping the perfect balance between value und cost, thus helping Scania to improve profitability while securing customer value!
Responsibilities
The Pricing Manager is responsible for global gross prices being available in the sales tools when new or updated products are introduced which means being part of the continuous introduction process. You are responsible for supporting Product Segments and Product Planning in price related issues, and with analysis and data when preparing the price proposals. You coordinate the pricing work to make sure decisions are taken in time, and lead the Price Council Meeting where the proposed price level is presented. The price is based on e.g. customer value, function and cost as well as the market situation, Scania strategy and present price structure.
You also manage the packages that we use to sell our trucks to either make it easier for our sales teams around the world to tailor the products to our customers’ needs or help them upsell value. Furthermore you follow-up already set prices on a regular basis to secure Scania´s long term profitability and bring up deviations into the respective decision meetings.
Finally, you make sure that all current gross prices are updated and relevant and you are also responsible for developing the price prosses to ensure it supports the overall strategy of the Scania group.
